Home in Tuscany
Casa Montecucco, being carefully restored in Maremma style, is located between Castiglione della Pescaia and Roccastrada, a hidden place in the Tuscan Maremma.
The view from Casa Montecucco embraces a broad horizon from the south with the Uccellina Park to the north west with the Argentario promontory, where you can spy on the valley of the Bruna river with the ancient ruins of the Castello di Pia dei Tolomei to the north, with the Metalliferous Hills in the distance.
This fertile area which is rich in sulphide mines and hot thermal waters was already known to the Etruscans. Archaeologists discovered there many inhabited sites and furnaces. Populonia, Vetulonia and Roselle are mysterious and ancient sites. There is a feeling of spirituality left there by ancient rituals. Dante mentioned the Maremma and Gavorrano in his Divine Comedy during his meeting with Pia De’ Tolomei.
The Maremma is not only about culture and history. Discover its intact beauty on foot or by bicycle. Wild boars, porcupines, deers, squirrels and weasels inhabit the dense oak forests. Enjoy the ancient olive plantations, wild vines and old pine forests. There are also many species of birds which live here such as herons, magpies, jays and inevitable swallows which appear here starting from March 21.
Let your soul rejoice while you let yourself be lulled by the pool or sit on the terrace and watch the horizon.
The fans of the sea and fishing may participate in boat trips suitable for small-scale fishing. Let the gentle waves lull you as you watch the lonely coast, away from beachclub umbrellas.
Golfers can satisfy their passion near Casa Montecucco.
