Disney, for some time now, has been on a mission to turn its classics into live-action remakes and it hasn’t exactly been smooth sailing. While they’ve tried to freshen things up with “modern” tweaks and diverse casts, the results have been hit or miss, mostly misses, without naming any names…
But things might be looking up for Disney after all! The Lilo & Stitch trailer just dropped, and fans are actually excited to see how it turns out. With surprisingly decent visuals, a Stitch that actually looks like Stitch, and an overall heartwarming vibe, this one might just break Disney’s live-action slump. Could Lilo & Stitch be the remake that finally gets it right? Fans sure are hoping so!

Disney has finally dropped the official trailer for its live-action giving fans a closer look at what to expect from the upcoming remake. Set to release this May, the film revisits the beloved 2002 animated classic.
The trailer right from the beginning dives into the heartwarming story of Lilo, a sweet yet lonely young girl who forms an unlikely bond with Stitch, a mischievous alien who crash-lands on Earth. Together, as people already know, embark on a journey filled with fun, chaos, and lessons all about family!
Chris Sanders reprises his role as the voice of Stitch, while the adorable newcomer Maia Kealoha steps into the role of Lilo. The cast also features Sydney Agudong, Zach Galifianakis, Billy Magnussen, Courtney B. Vance, and Hannah Waddingham.
So far, Disney’s marketing team has gone big with the movie, from a Mufasa: The Lion King spoof to a Super Bowl ad where Stitch causes mayhem on a football field. It was clear from the beginning that Disney isn’t taking any chances with this one! Now, with the full trailer out, fans can actually form an opinion of how this is going to shape out, and to many fans’ surprise, it is actually shaping out to be a must watch!

Disney’s latest Lilo & Stitch trailer seems to be hitting all the right notes, and fans are here for it! While there are brief glimpses of familiar faces like Cobra Bubbles and Agent Pleakley, that has got fans talking, the spotlight on the trailer entirely stays on the heart of the story, which is, Lilo and Stitch’s sweet yet chaotic bond.
Disney, with the second film, seems to be banking on nostalgia. The trailer so far shares a sneak peek into Stitch’s wild arrival on Earth and his not-so-smooth attempt at blending into human life.

Well, truth be told, the first look already gave longtime fans a sense of relief, and this new trailer only builds on that trust. Fans, who were once side-eyeing Disney’s live-action attempts like a suspicious cat, are now surprisingly warming up to this one. In fact, some are so impressed they’re ready to toss their past wounds into the nearest volcano and fall head over heels for Lilo & Stitch all over again!
Lilo & Stitch is set to release on the 23rd of May, 2025.
