Sunday is a major antagonist in the 2023 science fantasy turn-based tactical role-playing video game Honkai: Star Rail until upcoming playable character.
Sunday was a Halovian member of The Family, a cosmic-spanning faction dedicated to Xipe the Harmony. He led the Oak Family, the organization responsible for governing the planet Penacony, and was the elder brother of the famous singer Robin. Despite his professed allegiance to Xipe, he was actually a follower of the deceased Aeon of Order Ena. He sought to revive his fallen Aeon and use THEIR power to create a dream paradise from which nobody would awaken.

Appearance[]
Just like most Halovians, Sunday is a humanoid alien with angel-like features. He has fair skin and yellow irises with purple pupils. He has smooth, but wavy grayish-blue shoulder-length hair with a fringe swept up to the left. He has wings of similar color behind his ears as well as a halo behind his head.
Story[]
Early Life[]
The boy later known as "Sunday" was a Halovian born on the homeworld of his species. He had a younger sister, later known as "Robin," whom he cherished deeply. Halovians were capable of communicating telepathically and were renowned throughout the universe for their captivating beauty and serenity. Raised by their mother, Sunday and Robin had a peaceful childhood until a Stellaron descended upon their planet. "Stellarons" were mysterious astral objects that manifested at random locations across the universe, sowing various forms of disaster wherever they appeared.
The arrival of the Stellaron triggered cataclysmic disasters that threatened the existence of the Halovian people. As the chaos swept over their home, Sunday and Robin embraced their mother and each other and prayed to their gods. Their mother sang a song in an attempt to ease their fears, though the chaos outside was too deafening for Sunday and Robin to hear her. The Stellaron disaster eventually subsided, though not before it claimed many Halovians including Sunday and Robin's mother.
The Sound and the Fury[]
Sunday and his sister Robin appear at the beginning of the chapter to welcome the Astral Express Crew to the Reverie hotel. After learning about the Trailblazer's complications with trying to check in, he promises that he will resolve the issue before long, and also offers to upgrade their rooms as a gesture of goodwill. He does not interact with the crew for very long, as he quickly leaves for a scheduled appointment with Aventurine, a representative from the Interastral Peace Corporation who had also been invited to the Reverie. After heading up to the VIP Lounge, the crew discusses their thoughts on the matter; namely, the invitation that brought them to the hotel. Himeko mentions noticing something odd about the music box that they received, saying that it isn't like the other ones sent out by the Family. The Express engine's spatial curvature was used as its encryption key, to which Welt suggests that their invitation wasn't sent by the Family, but by someone else--possibly even a Nameless.
Sunday and Robin are encountered again when the Trailblazer crash-lands into the Golden Hour, one of the twelve zones in the Penacony's dreamscape. Noticing the Trailblazer's difficulty in getting used to conditions in the dreamscape, Sunday instructs his sister to use her power of the Harmony to attune their body with the memoria forming the environment. After this brief meeting they depart once more, and Sunday is never encountered again by the Astral Express Crew. Robin, however, is only seen again after the mysterious appearance of the Memory Zone Meme "Something Unto Death". Aventurine encounters the Trailblazer within the Reverie Dreamscape after discovering "the truth that could overturn Penacony". This "truth" would turn out to be Robin's murder at the hands of an unknown assailant, as Aventurine shows her "corpse" floating in her Dreampool.
Although nobody else seems to be aware of Robin's death, Sunday seems to have already learned about the fate of his sister. Upon being approached by Robin to discuss the appearance of "Death" within the dreamscape, he angrily dismisses her after correctly identifying her as Sparkle, a member of the Masked Fools who took on Robin's appearance to cause chaos in the name of Aha the Elation. After she leaves, Sunday monologues that justice will be enacted, and that THEY (an Aeon, possibly Xipe) will descend upon Penacony to destroy its transgressors.
Cat Among Pigeons[]
Sunday eventually approached Veritas Ratio, a member of the Intelligentsia Guild and a close friend of Aventurine. Through Ratio, he attempted to arrange a meeting with Aventurine at the Dewlight Pavilion to discuss the details of Robin's murder, as he is the only witness to her death aside from the Trailblazer. When Ratio finds Aventurine, however, he is already drunk on SoulGlad.
After cleaning Aventurine up and taking him to the pavilion, Ratio finds that Sunday has devised a series of puzzles to test Aventurine's character. As a representative of the Interastral Peace Corporation, Aventurine suspects that Sunday doesn't trust him, believing that he is walking into a private trial rather than an interrogation. Nonetheless he goes through with Sunday's demands, eventually arriving at his office.
Rather than asking him what he knows about Robin's death, however, Sunday first questions Aventurine about his Cornerstone. As one of the Ten Stonehearts, Aventurine of course owns one of these powerful artifacts, but was supposed to relinquish it to the Family upon arriving at Penacony. At the negotiation table, Sunday reveals that he is not only in possession of one, but two Cornerstones--one of which belongs to Topaz of the IPC's Strategic Investment Department. Sunday explains that he knew about Aventurine's past as an Avgin of Sigonia-IV, and about his plan to smuggle his own Cornerstone in through a bag of jewels that was also confiscated. He also reveals that he learned about the second Cornerstone through Ratio, offering him research on the Stellaron in exchange for his cooperation. After calling Aventurine's bluff, Sunday leaves him with only seventeen system hours to investigate Robin's murder, after which he will be executed. No longer seeing Aventurine as a potential threat, Sunday dismisses him and Ratio, but allows Aventurine to take his bag of "worthless gems" with him.
The Family would continue to hide the truth of Robin's death from the public, making arrangements to ensure that the Charmony Festival continues as planned. However, internal conflicts continue to arise within the Family, especially regarding Sunday. Welt would make his own investigation at the Dewlight Pavilion while accompanied by Acheron, a Self-Annihilator who claims to be a Galaxy Ranger. They would discover letters in Sunday's office revealing that "Death" had claimed at least fifteen other victims before attacking Firefly and Robin, and that the Family had arranged for the witnesses to have their memories of the victims wiped. Robin had also suggested that there is a traitor among the Family, and sent a warning to Sunday before trying to investigate the Memory Zone Meme herself. Before they could get any further with their findings, Sunday returns to his office, seemingly unaware that the two had gone through his things. Though Sunday reveals what he plans to do with Aventurine and still suspects that he may be a problem, he doesn't outright accuse him of being the murderer and truly believes that the mastermind of "Death" has to be someone within the Family.
Gallagher, a security guard within the dreamscape, later arrives at the Dewlight Pavilion to discuss the murders with Sunday, only to be accused of being the mastermind himself. Gallagher calls Sunday out on his "baseless claims", only have him lash back in turn. Sunday points out that Gallagher isn't just a fake, but an amalgamation of all fifty-two loyal members of the Family currently on his list of suspects. Finally deciding that Sunday knows too much, Gallagher summons "Death" into the pavilion, striking him down on the spot.
Then Wake to Weep[]
Sunday dreams of a time where both him and Robin encountered a Charmony Dove, arguing about whether they should take care of it and keep it in a cage due to how fragile it was, or to let it soae through the sky once it regained its strength. He later woke up and found himself in an unfamiliar Dreamscape, greeted by Gallagher, who revealed that the so called "Death" is actually named "Dormancy". And everyone get killed by it is still alive. Following Firefly, a member of the Stellaron Hunters, he reunites with Robin and encountered the Astral Express crew. After revealing the truth about the creation of the dreamscapes, Gallagher and the Express crew approached Sunday, asking him about the location of the Stellaron. He revealed that the Stellaron is the Penacony Grand Theater itself. Welt joins Sunday and Robin to confront the Dreammaster, Gopher Wood, while the others, excluding Gallagher and Misha, heads out to the SoulGlad Audition Venue in an attempt to enter the Grand Theater.
Sunday, Robin, and Welt return from the other side of the Dreamscape. They come across various guests, who indulge themselves in a hedonistic life within the dreamscape. They eventually come across Sparkle, who disguised herself as Robin to give various dreamers the "Mutually Assured Destruction" button. Sparkle give them the buttons before leaving. They later meet up with the Dreammaster himself, in front of the Reverie Hotel entrance. Gopher Wood asks Sunday to use his power given by Xipe on him to make sure that he will not lie. However, Welt interrupts the interrogation, as he remembered that the Harmony never needed a "divine law", leading him to question whether or not the "God" the two spoke of was Xipe.

And On The Eighth Day[]

In the aftermath of the battle, both Robin and Sunday wakes up from the dreamscape, with Robin already being tended to, while her brother was arrested and locked away. The revelation of his betrayal led to the downfall of the Oak Family.
Free From the Cage[]
“ | Go now. You are free — O chosen one, who dared to exceed his bounds. Sever your wings, descend to the mortal realm, and walk their lands. See what this world is truly like. | „ |
~ Jade freeing Sunday from prison. |
During his imprisonment, Sunday was visited by a member of the Ten Stonehearts he was familiar with: Jade. Jade had infiltrated Sunday's prison to extract him and present him with a trade. Though Sunday was uninterested in leaving prison, Jade incentivized him by revealing that he could use his freedom to find an opportunity to fulfil his vow to Robin. She suggested that he should find a new purpose by becoming a grassroots adventurer, and assured him that they would not have to discuss the would-be trade any further until he knew what he wanted. Sunday agreed to the Stoneheart's offer and escaped prison with her help.
